Banda Island Origin
Banda is a cluster of ten small volcanic islands in the Maluku Sea. For four centuries it was the only place on earth where nutmeg grew commercially — and it's still the origin most prized by traders.
Why Banda nutmeg
Volcanic soil, year-round humidity, and an old-growth tree population (some trees 200+ years old) produce kernels with higher volatile oil and a richer aroma than nutmeg from younger plantations.
Harvest cycle
Two main harvests per year (April–June and November–January) plus a smaller off-season picking. We schedule shipments around the harvest cycle to ship the freshest possible crop.
